Engine Tear Down

The motor that came in the car must have had a really horrible previous owner that didn't know what oil is. Because the car spun a rod bearing, when a rod bearing fails it means that oil couldn't get to it and the rod starts to wear directly on the crankshaft and the causes tremendous friction and the bearing eventually seizes to crank and spin around ruining that crank. So I dismantled the motor and found which one it was by doing a simple test where you tap the rods with a hammer and the sound is distinct when the bearings are bad. and i inspected my oil and found some of the material the bearings are made out of, they are usually about 4-5 layers of different alloys for different purposes. I didn't filter my oil but i kind of want to now. There would be more pieces in there.

This is a piece of the bearing, i put the motor back together because it was taking up lots of room in pieces and then after i finished i realized i forgot to take pictures.

Some causes of a spun bearing are usually not changing the oil, a bad oil pump, or improper assembly, i don't know what it was, but it wasn't oil changes.
